Welcome to my home for another WOYWW week! All this is made possible by Julia D., so please stop and say hello at Julia's Stamping Ground. Don't forget to visit all the other fabulously talented ladies & gents blogs. You will be amazed!
Here's what my desk looks like this week....and this is my story and I'm sticking to it!
Sunday was spent running errands. One of the stores I needed to stop in wasn't open until 1 pm but it was only noon. Just so you know, they close at 5 pm...I say why bother!
Since I had time to dawdle, I decided to stop our local thrift store. I no sooner had 3 toes in the door when my DH called. I stomped outside muttering to myself about his poor timing, I mean really, I'm shopping.
I don't call him in the middle of watching football!
This time I will forgive him because, as I was impatiently listening to him, I noticed a decorated Christmas tree inside with one of the ornaments being a glass Chocolate Silk pie. After rushing the call all the whilst blowing the proverbial kisses into the phone, I ran back in to grab said ornament before it was gone, as I'm sure there were dozens of people clamoring to get their hands on it. I picked it off the tree and proceeded to walk around the store like a proud peacock! You see it just so happens that Chocolate Silk pie is one of my DH's favorite treats so the ornament was a little smile to him from me.
You know they say when you give, you get more in return. It's true I tell ya. While browsing the aisles with my prized pie in hand, I spotted it...my "you get more in return". Here it is, a little black video shelf that will hold all my stamp sets and Spectrum Noir markers. And for only $6.40. I was so proud that I proceeded to the register with my head held high, chest out, stomach sucked while doing the Princess wave...LOL!
Needless to say, I haven't crafted this week as I've been too busy arranging and rearranging my craft supplies to include my new storage find. Roma's here to supervise tonight!
Until next week....Start each day with a grateful heart and a pocket full of sparkles~
Hugs,
Chris
Here it is...yes...he loved it! |
So organized. Great deal on your shelf. The pie ornament is delish. Happy Wednesday, LisaDV #26
ReplyDeleteI'm happy as a lark with the shelf. I like to keep my stamps visible otherwise I forget and don't use them.
DeleteThanks for stopping!
Hi Chris, great bargains you grabbed there. Nothing like a bit of organising. Cuddles sent to Roma. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #18
ReplyDeleteHi Shaz...thanks for stopping by. I love organizing, I find a certain kind of peace in it.
DeleteHave a great week!
That ornament is perfection! I'm like that too if I snag the last thing of something popular and then I carry it around the store so proud of myself. Tee hee! Happy Wednesday. Sandy Leigh #30
ReplyDeleteI don't often stop at this store. Sometimes it just calls to me...when it does I usually find something that I wasn't looking for!
DeleteThanks for stopping!
Very sweet ornament! Love the shelves too - what a great find! Have fun organising.

Thanks Sharon! We're excited to hang the ornament this Christmas. We tend to buy ornaments that spark a memory for us. It's fun to pull them out year after year and reminisce.
DeleteHave a great week!
WOW! Great find! I love the ornament and the shelf…I have one here I would have given you had I known…:-) I went to the expedites cause I needed more room. I figure I have close to 2000 stamp sets now…I have never counted but when I first started stamping I ordered a 100 sets all at once…I had more money and less time back then and I am still just opening those stamps. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great week. VIckie #4
ReplyDeleteLOL.I have more money and less time now! I'm finally purging my sets, to make room for new ones!

I waited with bated breath for you to end up saying that as you walked as proud as a peacock with purchases in hand and chest puffed out you tripped and broke the silk pie. Thank goodness you didn't - but it honestly felt like that was going to be the story.
ReplyDeleteInstead there was a lovely moral to your story.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Why Neet, I never thought about dropping that ornament more than 20 times...LOL!
DeleteFortunately that had several so I was covered. It was fun to watch the smile he gave me when he opened the bag!
See you next week.
Hugs
So glad he liked the ornament and you were able to get the shelf to fit in your room. Here's hoping you can get to crafting soon!

DeleteSee you next week!

Roma is good entertainment while scrapping. Every little piece of paper that hits the floor she attacks...too funny! I must say this was a bargain that I love.

Thank you Kathy! And yes this kitty is my little cutie pie...maybe I should get her an ornament..hahaha.
DeleteHave a great week!
Haha, you're so funny! I'm glad you posted a photo of the Chocolate Silk Pie as I had no idea what it was! Loving your storage unit - how did you carry that? Roma looks real cute and what a cool name for a cat! Thanks for your visit yesterday! Have a great rest if the week! zsuzsa #24
ReplyDeleteIt only looks heavy Zsuzsa. Got it in the car and then lugged it up a flight of steps. I was 3/4 of the way up when DH finally said he'd take it up...lol!
DeleteSee you next week...Hugs
Super pie.
ReplyDeleteSurvived the dentist although the numbness took ages to go and then I had to go sort an oil leak from car, really didn't need that when all I wanted to do was sleep!
Thanks for visiting me BJ #21
LOL...the dentist was probably easier to tolerate than the oil leak. Hope it all worked out well and that you did get some rest.

The pie ornament is fun! Love the shelves for your stamps too. What a pretty kitty Roma is - I can't let mine into the studio because one of them is far too nosy for her own good and disrupts everything! Thank you for your lovely comment - I am making up pages for two identical copies of a mini-album about our redent alk through some stunning local woods, one to keep, and one to give to the friends who took us. Progress is slow, but I'm enjoying doing it - the photos are all printed out, and now it's a question of mounting them on the pages, embellishing them, choosing some quotes, and bindind them. Watch this space, as they say!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your prayers - they mean such a lot! I am not worried now, I am sure the scan result will be fine.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #46
Hi Soshi! Roma is the nosey one in the house, the other 2 lumps of fur just hang out at my feet! I will be checking in to see the continuing progress of the mini albums.
DeleteSee you soon!
Hi Chris, pleased you showed the pie as I wouldn't have known what one of those was otherwise. That is a good cat name as I know they like to Romaround Lol! Thanks for the visit to mine, have a great week and happy belated woyww,
ReplyDeleteAngela x 16
Hi Angela...you are right there with the cat name! Not only did she Romaround, she was quite the Aroma stinker when young and Rome is one of our favorite places to visit. Yes, the pie, we all needed a visual! Hugs
DeleteOh well done, two great results, how cute that slice of pie is! I love that you've been arranging and rearranging to accommodate the new shelves, a sure sign of how pleased you are with them!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia...hope this finds you feeling well! I think I was a professional organizer in my past life. I sure do have fun arranging. I may have to make some pie now!
DeleteSee you next week!
That shelf looks fabulous! So neat and tidy! I wish someone could come in here and wave a magic wand and make all my stuff so organised! Love your kitty - very regal :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment on my post too.
I'll be over as soon as I can! Roma may look regal but let me tell you she doesn't have a refined bone in her body...LOL!
DeleteSee you next week.

Great finds! And awesome price on that shelving unit. You asked about my Blog Planner. I'll be doing a post on it and will make sure to link in my Wednesday post next week. Thanks for stopping by. Creative Blessings! Kelly 339
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly...oh I'm looking forward to see what you're doing with that planner.
DeleteI'll be there for sure.

That video stand you found for $6.40 was a steal and works beautifully as a stamp storage unit. Yes, I think your good deed for getting that pie ornament for your DH was rewarded with a real treasure. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThank you Arnoldo! I really enjoy surprising him with things...at least he know I pay attention!
