WOYWW #378 Busy as a Bee

Hi All,

Here were are again...another What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!  I can remember almost every day last week and what I was doing!  Wasn't going to let this past week whoosh by me, no siree!  I got smart and used my noodle...I mean calendar.  Kept a little journal of my daily activities.  When I forgot to do that, which was 5 out of 7 nights, I wrote a post-it at work the next morning.  Most are still stuck on my desk:)  But by golly, I can look at them everyday.  I just can't quite make out the gibberish I scribbled!

Thanks for taking a peek at my space this week.  Take a minute to visit Julia and the rest of the WOYWW group at Julia's Stamping Ground.  A very creative bunch indeed!

I've been working on a number of things and actually finishing them!

To the left is a card I'm making for a Can You Cast It challenge.  Top left are Christmas tags for a swap.  I only have to stamp To/From on the back and they are done.  Front right are some buttons I found that I think will go well with my Fun Stampers Journey Anchor Me stamp set and Nautical Adventures papers. I may make a scrapbook page.  Not sure yet.

The box in the back is a stash of goodies that are leftovers from previous projects. Rather than get rid of them I'm being creative and making embellishments for future scrapbook pages. Here's a couple things I've put together.

In the middle of the table is a picture of Zoltar (see below) as well as our fortunes from him.  We went to Cedar Point a few weekends back which is where we found him. You may remember Zoltar from the movie "Big" when Tom Hanks became a grown up after making a wish to Zoltar.  My wish for supple skin, skinny thighs and no facial wrinkles didn't come true....but it was fun trying!

Thanks for stopping by.  I can't wait to see what everyone else is up to this week.
Until then.....
Be Amazing!

Garden Gems

Hi All,

Even though it's been hot and dry here all summer, we've managed to get some great tomatoes from our small garden.  We planted Roma's, Orange Cherry, Sweet Cherry and low acid yellow tomatoes.  I must say we've been blessed with bounty and have shared our good fortune with family and neighbors.  Even thought the Roma's didn't do so well (got blossom end rot) we did manage to get a couple pounds which are now tucked safely in the freezer as sauce.  I'm looking forward to a nice spaghetti squash with homemade sauce in January of next year.  Here's one of my yellow's...the best looking tomato I've ever seen if I dare say so myself!

Not only did we grow a bounty of these great looking beauties, we are overflowing with cherry tomatoes. Quite a few never make it far from the garden as I eat them while picking em.

We grew green peppers that rivaled the size of the ones in the grocery stores.  First time we've grown any bigger than an apricot.  Managed to get a few lovely eggplants and enough zucchini to make 16 loaves of bread not to mention the ones that were grilled.  Yum!

Carrots, beets and radishes are coming along nicely and will be ready in a few short weeks.  I've started planning of next year's garden and can hardly wait!

Until next time.....
Keep Creative and Blossom!
Hugs,
Chris

CYCI # 134 Pets

Hi All!

I was bouncing around some sites where I am a habitual lurker. One of my favorites is Can You Case It.  Up till now I've never participated however this one struck a cord so I decided to join in. Click on the link below to visit these talented ladies.

This week's theme is pets.  I'll bet most of us have had a pet and losing one is very simply put, like losing a family member.  My beloved Dalmatian, Strip, has been gone for nearly 12 years, but I think of him often with laughter and tears. I made this card in his memory.

The background was a swap item, but I think Darice makes this folder.  I used Fun Stampers Journey, Journey Glaze in the paw prints.  I used my Cricut to cut the bone and inked the edges.  The sentiment is from the Stampin Up You Little Furball set, the twine is also from Fun Stampers Journey and I had the heart brad in my stash.

To all of you who've lost your Furry friends, hugs....
Till next time
Chris

WOYWW

Hi All,

Another week in life just whooshed by. I do believe I felt the rush of air in my face as it passed. I've been up to my ears in projects, phone calls and insurance companies.  First with the car that caught fire, then new dishwasher that needs a motor.  And to top that off, for grins & giggles, I've got a cold. What a whirlwind, I mean a tornado!  Ah well, calmer days are on the horizon. Thanks for checking out my desk, which is way messier than usual.  Don't forget to check out what everyone else is up to by visiting WOYWW at Julia's Stamping Ground. I'm sure you'll be amazed!

I have a desktop and laptop behind the chair.  A wooden box full of paper and projects.  Next to that is a file holder full of some paper to be put away.  My little pink basket of odds and ends has move itself from the right of me to the left of me.  It keeps getting closer to the wastebasket!  On the front table is some paper for a mini album challenge I'm working on.  Some old issues of Papercrafts magazine.  Some lace for a top that needs updating.

That's my desk this week and as long as a phone isn't connected to it, I'm a happy camper!
Till next time...Don't be ordinary...be Extraordinary!
Hugs,
Chris

A Little Car Trouble...

Hi All,

Last week my DH pulled in the drive, rushed in the house and told me his car was on fire. Really?  He runs in, blurts that out, then goes outside in no hurry at all.  Hello, do I need to call the fire department?  I trudge outside just in time to see him throw down the garden hose.  Now a couple things come to mind immediately.   First...what was on fire?  Second...is it out?  Third....how much damage is there?  And last...if the fire didn't ruin the engine, surely the water would.

The car is smoldering and smoking by the battery compartment so I ran in and got the flour.  I tried to toss it where I could see the red glow, without much success.  Have you every tried to throw flour on the side of something.  Unless it's wet it won't work especially under the hood of a car.  I must have mumble out out loud about buying a new fire extinguisher.  I didn't finish the thought before DH runs in to grab the one we do have. The one that is at least 18 years old.  The same one that was in the kitchen for 18 years and has been relegated to the basement since the kitchen remodel several months ago. I can't imagine it works.

I wish I had a camera handy when DH came running out with the extinguisher, trying to pull the pin while reading the instructions at the same time!  Typical of him to try to multi task...LOL!   He finally pulled out the pin then blasted the car creating a huge cloud of extinguisher stuff around the car which of course billowed my way.  Now I had flour and yellow extinguisher stuff on me, the car and my drive.

After the cloud settled we could still see a little glow from the car but no smoke.  We were in good shape. Our quick thinking and household supplies would make any fireman proud.  Just one teensie little thing...the windows were stuck in the down position and storms were expected.  Um, honey, did you not think to roll up the windows when you pulled in the drive with the car on fire!  Fortunatley I had to put the car in gear to to push it down the drive so we could have it towed. As I turned the key, the power came on just long enough to roll up the windows.  That was the last hurrah as the car finally gave up it's last little sliver of power.

Now that all is said and done I just have to laugh.  That was until we went car shopping....and sticker shock set in.

I'll save that for another post.

Until then,
Stay creative and let your sparkle shine!
Hugs,
Chris

WOYWW What a Week!

Hi All,

Another week surely has blown by with the speed of light.  The older I get...well, I just get older!  Oh yeah and time goes by quicker.

I was under the impression that when you reach the age that your children are gown with kids of their own that one would have tons and tons of free time.  Seriously?  I must have been dreaming as I am busier now that I have ever been in my life. I can't quite figure out what I do that makes me so busy.

With that said, let me share my what's on my craft desk this week.

This table is to my left.  I was matching some photos to some pages I had previously made.  You can see my computer, my Spectrum Noir markers and the basket has some sample card ideas I've been playing with.

This is my main table.  My SU cutter and my ATG gun are front & center.  To the left I have a plastic keeper filled with small diecuts and small scraps that I put together when I need an embellishment.  I'll post some of those at a later date.  The pink basket on the right has some little things I need to find a spot for.  In the center is a layout I made about a month ago. I finally found a pic for it.

Here it is up close.  I need to add journaling to it yet.  This is my granddaughter Belle at her first birthday party.  Her blue eyes are stunning in person.

Thanks for peeking in at my blog!  I can't wait to see what everyone else is up to this week.

Until next time....Let your sparkle brighten up the day!
Hugs,
Chris

WOYWW

Hi All,

Sorry I didn't post last week.  Time just got away from me faster than usual!

I remember what I did Tuesday after work...had dinner with my DIL.  That was a special treat for me, we rarely get any time alone just to talk and catch up.

Friday after work I went grocery shopping with DH.  We had a trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park planned for Saturday so we needed some food to bring along.  We went with our youngest daughter and her fiance.  Tickets were compliments of DH's job so it was a treat indeed.  A good time was had by all and I took some really neat photo's to scrap!

The rest of the week was a blur and I can't remember if I crafted anything.  I went to my craft room and I took a photo to help me remember it all. Here it is...I guess I someone didn't think I was going to use my craft table:)
This is my little hellion, Roma (and I say that lovingly!)  That pink heart on her nose is so deceiving. She's almost 3, almost 6 lbs., full of herself, and rules this house with an iron claw!  My other fur babies are more than double her size but know to stay out of her way.   As I write this, she is knocking my markers all over the place.  Her only problem is she doesn't pick up the mess she makes. Oh silly me I forgot, her humans do that for her!

I'm going to pick up my markers and maybe Roma will let me craft something.  We'll chat again next week.

Until then.....Share your Sparkle with the World!
Hugs,
Chris
